About Us

Propulsion Games is an indie video game studio based in Hampshire, UK.

We’re family members and friends who collaborate to make games. Over the years we’ve worked on game jams, mobile titles, self-published indie games, and even a short film or two. We do also have a love for space and science related games - which can be seen in our local multiplayer transmedia puzzle game Rockets are Super Hard with a 100+ page PDF guide, a similar streamlined solo title The Mars Agenda, and sci-fi horror narrative game Close Contact.

Our latest title Orbitect, a construction/roguelite mashup in space, was released November 2023.


Who We Are

Ryan Javanshir, PhD - Programming

Ryan is a software engineer who has extensive experience developing games from ideation to release, including Into Blue Valley (2014) as well as Propulsion Games’ existing titles. Ryan has a PhD in Transmedia Storytelling.

James Nutting - Game Design

James is a writer and game designer who is a production management veteran in the traditional studio system (on both the development and publishing sides), including Mediatonic and Epic Games Publishing.

Matt Javanshir - Business Development, Audio

Matt is a composer and sound designer who has worked with numerous developers to contribute audio for over a decade. Matt also had a 15 year career working within finance at J.P.Morgan Chase & Co, most notably in data analytics for the Internal Audit function.

Collaborators

Lucy is a graphic designer who provides design services via Lumetrica. Lucy has contributed to logos, steam artwork and marketing materials for various video games.

Karla is a marketing professional with over a decade’s experience in full spectrum marketing and publishing; having worked on AAA games as well as III titles. She offers Propulsion Games advice and consultancy services.

Karla Pett - Marketing Consultation

Martin Webber - Playtesting

Martin is a programmer with a background in physics and extensive knowledge of management game mechanics and design.

Lewis Hole - Playtesting

Lewi has a background in game design, contributing thrpugh extensive playtesting.
